Commercial & Workspace
Our Vision for Wick First is to harness Hackney Wick’s existing creative community, people, potential, character, and history; nurture sustainable growth and deliver a creative, diverse and inclusive town centre that demonstrates innovative regeneration.
We have partnered with Bow Arts on this project. Bow Arts have existing experience working with Notting Hill Genesis delivering major, industry-leading placemaking programmes within London. That same team will be responsible for developing and delivering our commercial strategy in Hackney Wick.
This will be brought together through place making with sustainability, opportunity and community engagement at the core so we can help support local businesses and arts industries that need relocating.
You can register with Bow Arts at any time to receive regular updates on affordable workspace availability and upcoming projects. Bow Arts do not operate a waiting list, they curate each space selecting artists and creative businesses who will work for that particular building.
How you can help shape the plans
Because of the existing masterplan consent, certain elements of the Wick First scheme are fixed – such as the number of homes, amount of public realm and play space, and the amount of commercial and low-cost workspace. However, the local community still has an opportunity to help us shape the final plans ahead of submission of a Reserved Matters Planning Application later this year. We want to hear from you!
You will be able to help us:
- Decide on landscaping features for the public green spaces which the whole community will benefit from.
- Provide ideas for local makers to contribute to the public realm or shared spaces.
- Shape the mix of commercial, retail and creative businesses which could occupy the completed buildings.
